Since it's so easy to let the summer get away from you, I decided this year I'd ask the kids what they'd like to put on their Summer Bucket List. After looking at me like I was crazy, I had to explain to the older two what a bucket list is. The little guy was checked out of this conversation until he heard someone mention the fire station which meant his contribution of the remaining items was imitating a fire truck siren as loud as his cute little lungs can belt out. For the most part, these are things my kiddos picked to do. Everything is free (or just about) and though some things are odd (chocolate covered bacon?? really?) and some are heartwarming, most are just average summer things. I did suggest the shaving cream slip 'n slide and the 'Ding-Dong Donuts' I saw here courtesy of Lindsey over at The Pleated Poppy.
I'm a list maker and this makes me feel like we have summer all mapped out. I'm sure we'll add to this but this is what we came up with for now. I'll print this out and throw it in our family binder.
I'm also taking a photo each time we do something on our list and the plan is (notice the hesitation in my tone) to throw the photos together in a Project Life-ish album. The plan is to create a list each year so we can see how we spent our summer.
What will your family be doing this summer?

This is such a great and inspiring idea. I love the photo element of it. Can't wait to see photos of some of these--promise you will post!
Thank you Lisa Marie!! I'm really going to try to put a photo grid together of all the things on our list.
