I'm so gansta. Ha! For reals though (does that up the gangsta-ness?), I'm all for making the crockpot cool again. Was it ever not cool? I think I was born in the wrong era. I'm always reminded of this when I watch Mad Men. Ahh...life seemed so simple back then.
Let's talk about my slow cooker love, shall we? I use our slow cooker a few times a week, at least. Why do I love slow cookin' it? Let me count the ways. Since the hubs has his own business, his schedule varies. Having a tasty meal ready to go in the crock pot means it's ready when we are. We don't always eat with our kids (gasp! I know! Awful parents we are..) so we can serve their dinner up and later on when we're ready to eat, our meal is hot and ready. Of course in the winter it's nice to have a big pot of stew brewing all day because it smells so cozy, but summer is a great time for slow cooker meals because without the oven on, the house stays cool. Also, with a new little budding cook in the house, I like that I can oversee her meal prep without feeling rushed because everyone is starving. See? These meals are so easy a child can prepare them! I suppose my love of the ol' crockpot is clear enough. Let's get to our top meals, shall we?
Summertime is a perfect time for French Dip sandwiches. The kids LOVE these which is a plus. They're so simple that there's nothing the kids have to pick out because they don't like it.
